Activity Program Development Part 1 & 2-Each facility has a different personality. This session focuses on ensuring your activity program matches your resident population. It challenges the “3 B’s” principle and pushes us to think outside the box when developing an activity program.
Activity Documentation & MDS3.0-What do I do?-What to include in a quarterly activity note is a question that is often posed. This session looks at the different pieces of information that should be covered in the note and describes the importance of incorporating information from the MDS3.0 into the quarterly note.
Meaningful Activity Programming for Those Living with Dementia-This session presents multiple principles that assist in developing a successful activity program specifically for those living with Dementia. Layered Activities, Sensory Focused Activities, Theme Kits, Spark of Life and the Montessori Program are all discussed.
And a “round table” portion to share your facility calendars and sharing of your Best of the Best ideas. And everyone bring ONE innovative activity with supplies to conduct with the group or display for the group

Dusty
Linn is an LCSW with a Masters in Social Work and works as a Social,
Activity, Dementia Consultant & Educator for Dusty Linn Consulting,
Inc. She has worked in Long Term Care for almost 20 years. She teaches
an Activity Director Course and Social Service Director course in the
state of Arkansas. She presents regularly to Health Care Associations
across the nation on the topics of Dementia care, Activity programming
and Social Service Concerns. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner,
an Instructor for the Positive Approach to Brain Change, Certified
Validation Worker, and is an Activity Consultant – Board Certified.

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities is an approved provider of continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, #5-0002. To receive the 12 contact hours, you must complete the entire program. Certificates may be printed once the program evaluation is submitted. Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected]. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than March will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between M will receive a refund of 1/2Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.
