How to Submit Comments on New Assisted Living Regulations
On November 3, the Office of Inspector General filed a new regulation, 902 KAR 20:480, for assisted living communities and apartment-style personal care homes pursuant to SB 11. The proposed regulation contradicts and oversteps the intent of SB 11 with requirements that do the following…
- Require staffing beyond the statute as well as Personal Care regulations
- Mandate a controversial Functional Needs Assessment
- Restrict licensure categories impacting the ability to age in place
The Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) is encouraging providers to submit comments on the regulation and its impact on residents in their communities. The deadline to submit comments is January 31, 2023. We encourage you to submit your comments as soon as possible.
