This Basic MDS  training will take place over a total of three days, allowing more time to cover each section and the new changes.

Below is the agenda and target audience.

Day One agenda will cover MDS 3.0 Sections A-F.  This day will focus on the sections usually completed by Activity, Social Service, and/or Nursing staff
Day Two agenda will cover MDS 3.0 Sections G-L.  This day will focus on the sections usually completed by Nursing and Dietary staff, including Section GG which is critical for PDPM.
Day Three agenda
will cover MDS 3.0 Sections M-V, including the new Sections J2100 – J5000 Surgical Procedures.  This day will focus on the sections usually assigned to Nursing and Therapy staff, and will include training and practice on the Care Area Assessments  (CAAs) and the Care Plan, Register today to attend all three days for the complete MDS 3.0 Training.

“Slide handouts will be provided for each day of training, but the MDS 3.0 RAI Manual will only be provided to attendees that sign up for all three days.

Presenter:

Janine Lehman, RN, WCC, RAC-CT, CLNC

Director of Legal Nurse Consulting for Proactive Medical Review and is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ experience in long term care, working in all nursing capacities from Nursing Assistant and Charge Nurse, to MDS Coordinator, Staff Development Coordinator, ADON and DON. She is MDS Certified through AANAC,and is a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. Her background includes serving as a Corporate Nurse Consultant, and the Director of Clinical Services for a multi-facility, multi-level of care organization. Janine serves as a founding member of the Kentucky RUG Task Force Committee and has served on the Case Mix Appeals Panel and IDR Panel as a provider representative, as well as serving on the Kentucky Medicaid Technical Advisory Committee. She has extensive experience in the RAI process, clinical documentation, legal nurse consulting, restorative nursing programs, fall management, QAPI, and infection control, and has provided training on these topics for State and National organizations.

Continuing Education

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities is an approved provider of continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, #5-0002.  To receive the   18 contact hours, you must complete the entire program. Certificates may be printed once the program evaluation is submitted. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received seven (7) workdays prior to the seminar date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received inside of seven (7) workdays will receive one-half refund. Participants who do not attend will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office. All cancellations must be made in writing and may be emailed to [email protected]  Phone cancellations will not be accepted.

PAYMENT AND COLLECTION POLICY

Members shall pay for conventions or seminars in advance. Full payment must be received seven (7) days prior to seminar or convention. All registrations received without payment will be invoiced at time registration is received.  If membership dues or any invoices are 90 days in arrears, registration fee for seminar or convention will be charged at the non-member rate unless payment is made in full seven (7) days prior to seminar or convention.
